A few weeks ago I was going through my great aunt's stash of vintage recipes that she clipped out of various magazines and newspapers when I ran across this vintage recipe for Picnic Style BeanBurgers. She told me that she used to make this recipe a lot back in the good old days so today I thought I would share it with all of you. This recipe will make 6-8 servings.
Picnic Style BeanBurgers Recipe
1/2 lb. lean ground beef
3/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
1/3 cup onions, finely chopped
1 lb. can Pork & Beans, drained
1/2 cup ketchup
8 hamburger buns
In a large skillet brown the ground beef until done, drain away the grease. Stir in the salt, black pepper and chopped onion. Simmer the mixture for 3-4 minutes. Stir in the large can of Pork & Beans and ketchup. Simmer over low heat for 4-5 minutes. Spoon hot bean and beef mixture onto hamburger buns and serve immediately.
